Hyderabad: Enabling Child and Human Rights for Seed Companies (ECHO), a leading consortium focused on ethical supply chain standards in the seed industry launched its new website and a comprehensive position paper on ‘decent work standards’ at T-Hub on Wednesday.

The position paper was presented to Rani Kumudini, IAS, Special Principal Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana by Dr. Davuluri Venkateshwarulu, Director of Glocal research and a renowned activist for decent work standards along-with the entire executive committee of ECHO which consists of industry leaders. More than 100 representatives of various seed companies, NGOs, multilateral organizations, Governments, and academic institutions actively participated in the event.

Dr. Davuluri, said: “ECHO’s primary objective is to ensure a sustainable seed production supply chain by safeguarding human rights and promoting decent workplace standards. Through collaboration with various stakeholders, ECHO aims to raise awareness, establish an auditing mechanism for supply chain human rights adherence, and provide sustainable solutions to farmers on child rights and other decent work issues.”
